Curriculum
Quranic Arabic
At Amaan Academy, we provide comprehensive instruction in various aspects of Qur’anic Arabic, encompassing Tajweed rules, fluency in recitation, memorisation, and translation. Our primary focus is on ensuring that students learn to recite the Qur’an correctly and with proper pronunciation. To achieve this, we offer close, personalised guidance, helping each student master the intricate rules of Tajweed. Our curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in Qur’anic recitation, enabling students to recite with confidence and accuracy. Additionally, we emphasise memorisation and translation skills, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of the Qur’anic text.
Islamic Studies
Our syllabus provider, Safar Academy, has refined its Islamic Studies curriculum over the past 15 years. It covers topics from the stories of the Prophets to modern 21st-century life. This curriculum is shaped by Islamic theory, modern educational methods, and valuable feedback from teachers and students across the UK.
Key features of the syllabus:
• Core Subjects: Elements from all core subjects are covered in this book: Qurʾānic stories, Islamic tenets of faith (ʿaqīdah), religious rulings (fiqh) and major episodes from the life of Prophet Muḥammad, as well as areas of personal development, in an age-appropriate manner.
• Cumulative Knowledge: The series aims to cumulatively build children’s essential Islamic knowledge, cultivate good character and instill God consciousness.
• Fully illustrated: The full colour and illustrated editions have been developed to ensure that it is enjoyable for children as well as being comprehensive and reliable.
• Revision: All the textbooks contain sections dedicated to core revision as well as revising key concepts and content from the previous year.
• Accompanying Workbooks: Workbooks have questions designed to encourage thought, expression and connection with the teaching material.
Surah/Supplication Studies
Students will start by memorising short to medium-length surahs from the Qur’an, as well as essential daily duas (supplications). This initial stage focuses on building a strong foundation in memorisation techniques and familiarising students with frequently recited verses and prayers. As students progress through the different levels of our programme, they will gradually move on to more advanced content. This includes longer and more complex surahs, as well as a deeper understanding of the meanings and contexts of the texts they are memorising. Our structured approach ensures that students develop their memorisation skills systematically, enabling them to retain and recall Qur’anic verses and duas with increasing proficiency and confidence.
